Obviously, we'll have to do something if the BA system collapses on us. I guess there'll be one or two intro courses, which means there won't be much of a choice. So you had better do your intro (102, 104, 112, 141) this term.

Thanks a lot!

I think I'll take up the courses. Because even if it doesn't turn out well I'll still have some knowledge on the topic to start with next autumn term :-)

So it is not sure yet. But if indeed it'll be introduced in 2006, it will be like a fire burning up the forest behind us, always having to hurry because of it. Won't there be some equivalences in the new system for those who started their studies in the old one?

Have a look at the curricula: ANN, AN, AFN.

Aren't intro to linguistics courses prerequisites of the 241/242, 243/244, 251/252 courses?

We do not yet know if the BA system will be introduced in September 2006 (it may not). If, however, it will, we will launch much fewer (1 or 2) intro to ling seminars, which means you won't have much of a choice. So you should give it a try.

If you decide not to take it, take some other pair instead (211/212, 213/214, 215/216, 241/242, 243/244, 251/252). They will be more difficult, but you won't have extra courses later.

I need a piece of advice:
If I don't take up the intro to linguistics courses this term, will it be problem? It occured to me because of the new system to be introduced next year. Or it won't affect these courses?

I read the schedule for English-only majors on the seas website, so if I have two majors is it okay to leave it for 2006 or should I try to do it this term anyway?
