Here's a thesis:

If a student with two majors finishes the compulsory "training" (that is gets the "absolutorium" or whatnot for both majors), that means that only the thesis paper and the "szakzáróvizsga" remains, am I right?

So there should theoretically be a possibility to complete the two pending thesis papers only after the completed 10 terms (so in the 11-th term) without even being registered as a student at Elte right?
Of course this would result in  student not being eligible for a students card or any payments from the Uni, but it would mean that a more loose schedule for the previous 10 terms could be observed.

So in a case like the above would a 11th term come with any charges? That is would the student be túlfutó, if he/she is not even a registered student anymore?

Sorry for the length, I just wanted to be clear

Please read this first: http://seas3.elte.hu/seas/studies/graduation.html

Select a thesis supervisor. Some help of whose doing what at SEAS is provided at http://seas3.elte.hu/academic.html

No. SEAS does not regulate this at all. Some departments (most notably DEAL), however, do. Your supervisor may also prescribe that you take certain courses.

No. Answer as above. (Actually, if this were the case, specialization would be obligatory, since thesis wrinting is obligatory.)

If you have only one major you have 8 terms to complete your studies (140 credits of that subject + 100 credits anything else). If you have two, you have 10 terms (2*140 credits). You have to submit your thesis title a year before submitting the thesis: i.e., if you wish to defend your thesis in June 2006, you have to submit it by 31 March 2006 and you have to announce the thesis title by 15 May 2005. (All this can be found under the link above.)

Because you disabled BBCode when posting. I enabled it and watch the result.

I have heard from somebody that should I want to do my záróvizsga in summer 2006 (which apparently I will have to, if we have 4 years to complete the Uni, although I am not sure about that either, I feel quite chaotic) I have to submit the title of my thesis this spring. I wonder if it is true...

Ancsur: about supervising courses I have read that one has to "successfully cooperate" with your supervisor. That is, you have to meet this person on a regular basis and discuss your thesis in progress (at least IMHO)... I think you have to ask a supervisor's consent, then enter the course (refer to homepages submitted in an earlier topic by szigetva) and carry on with cooperation...
About specialisation: as far as I know you don't 'have to' specialise at all to get your degree. However, if you do, it cannot hurt
In addition, I think the field of your thesis has to do with your államvizsga, namely that you will have to choose from topics within that field. I may not be right, though.

I have collected some questions:

- what are the necessary features for starting writing a thesis (what to do, when, deadlines, what finished courses does one need, etc.)
- how to take the supervising courses of the thesis? We only have to enter them in the markbook and then wait for something to happen, or have to consult someone?
- I have heared rumors that it is necessary to have three 300-courses from the same field as the thesis will be (for example three finished 300-literature courses has to be in the index BEFORE starting writing a thesis in literature) is this true?
- does one have to specialise in the same field as the field of the thesis?
