R, R5, and E all stand for the Rákóczi út 5 building. E probably stems from some misunderstanding that arose around the time SEAS moved to her new building, but it starts to count as a conventional denomination.

Could you please tell me where room R 439 is? Is it in the main campus at museum kért?
I take introduction to journalism there, so it would probably be in a building that has something to do with media.

Thanks!

Thank you for your kind replies. What Clarika said was exactly the thing I was looking for, sorry if I weren't clear!

just for the others, who don't have a 2003 catalog (e.g. newcomers):

ADS - ajtósi dürer sor
Kazy - kazinczy utca (ped. classes mostly)
IZU - izabella utca (psycho, classes mostly)
MUK - múzeum körút (main building of BTK)
BEAC - gym at lágymányos

and I think all others are 'eliminated' or not interesting for BTK students (PBU, Puskin u., Lágymányos, Ecseri etc.).

Have you looked at the spring 2003 Catalogue yet? You still don't mention any abbreviation apart from ADS, which you already know.

My problem is the abbreviations in the course catalogue that tell you which room to go to. Like this ADS. How would I know that it means Ajtosi Dürer sor?? especially that I am not a resident of Budapest. There should be some help... Or can I just ask the porter at the main gate of the university or at the information desk and they would know where to go?

There used to be one in the printed Catalogue of spring 2003, but interestingly this need has not come up openly yet. What are you thinking of specifically?

Hy, ADS means Ajtósi Dürer sor 19-21, you can reach it easily by bus No7. The first number of the three-numbered room signs the floor; e.g. room 209 is on the second floor.

Ok the course catalogue tells us which room the lecture/seminar will be at. But can I find the meaning of abbreviations anywhere? Like for example it says ADS 209.. which building is it???
