Essay Contest

Check out our inaugural Spring IHS Essay Contest. With a March 1, 2005 deadline, and over $5,000 in total prizes, you still have ample time to put together a winning entry. Essays need to address the question of how a society's level of personal freedom impacts individual's abilities to maximize their creative powers. Humane Studies Fellowships

Scholarships of up to $12,000 are available for outstanding undergraduates and graduate students interested in the ideas of liberty. Students of any nationality studying in the United States or abroad are eligible to apply. Deadline: December 31, 2004. Download an application now!

Film & Fiction Scholarships

The Institute for Humane Studies awards scholarships of up to $10,000 to bright, motivated students pursuing a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) degree in filmmaking, fiction writing, or playwriting. IHS Journalism Internships

Gain real-world journalism experience this summer working as a reporter in a newsroom. IHS offers PAID internships at Freedom Communications newspapers across the country. Charles G. Koch Summer Fellows
