No, absolutely not. I know they are quite overwhelmed. I just thought that there may be some seasonality in their workload in the sense that there is maybe a bit less work to be done in, say, November, than in the hectic months of the registration and exam periods. But I know precious little of the inner workings of the TO, and there is probably a lot of back office work to be done in November as well.

What I can't get is why they don't simply refeed the names into the system, writing them the Hungarian way: Newson Mark etc. It's been something like 5 months since this problem popped up, and it cannot be such a Herculean task to reenter a dozen names or so into the system.

It's not ETR's fault. The system abbreviates names by cutting after the first space (probably the algorithm is more elaborate to cope with cases like H. Kovács). The people who fed teachers' names failed to cleverly deal with the idiotic tradition of nonHungarians of putting first names first and last names last, when obviously first names should come last and last names should come first. :)

ETR people seem to stick to their old habit of referring to teachers by first names, nicknames, spouse's names etc. Two additional examples:

Francis = Frank Prescott
Mark = Mark Andrews OR(!) Mark Newson

Some of you get scared when you see unfamiliar names in the ETR. The ETR management knows of the problem, but decided not to deal with it, because it only affects a minority of the users of the system. :evil:

So here's a list (to be expanded)

Dolgosne = Kormos Judit
Gacs = Peter Agnes
Gerevichne = Zombory Erzsebet
Janzer = Csikos Dora
Scholz = Halacsy Katalin
