Why do we need the intro class, then

Wasn't it fun for it's own sake? Do you only take classes because they are prerequisites for others? And in linguistics of all!

It was fun for it's own sake... Otherwise I wouldn't be winkling. Anyways, intro was one of my fave classes, esp. the seminar  Oh, and no, people usually take classes because they're in the curriculum therefore they need it for their degrees, I mean, besides enjoying themselves.
But I truly agree with the explanation why it's not a prerequisite.

This prerequisite had to be removed for technical reasons: imagine you fail 142  you can't have 141  you can't take any linguistics course in the next TWO terms! Students could hardly survive withour lx for that long. :D

I cannot take ANN-259 (angol nyelvészet szigorlat) because interestingly ETR believes that I have not passed ANN-241 which I actually have, while ETR has nothing to say about ANN-245 for example which I really could not even take because of the "weak prerequisite problem" and is also a prerequisite of ANN-259
