The objective of this course is (1) to review the basic research methods used in research focusing on language and communication in intercultural situations, and (2) to get acquainted with the basic requirements of and practical issues concerning writing a research paper. Discussions of the topics and related readings will form the backbone of the course, and students will be presenting their own work, too.
requirements & assessment
regular attendance and participation; thorough preparation for classes; all texts have to be read and assignments have to be completed. The major assignment is to write a research proposal for the MA thesis.
