description & set texts
During this MA seminar series students are introduced to seminal works of twentieth-century Irish playwrights, north and south of the border, including plays by W.B. Yeats, Sean O'Casey, Frank McGuinness, Stewart Parker and Marina Carr. Students are very welcome to take an active part in seminar discussions as the course unveils the dramatists' response to landmark historical moments during the 20th century. In addition, the course introduces students to issues shaping contemporary critical discourse in Ireland.

Evaluation: end-of-term essay (60%), seminar work (30%), small presentation (10%).
