The course aims at providing a comprehensible overview of the development of the approaches to the structure of nominal constructions, i.e. NPs and DPs. It includes the introduction of puzzling issues exhibited by the behaviour of nominal expressions that have long intrigued researchers (e.g. pre- and postmodification inside an NP, prenominal and postnominal possessors) and touches on Binding Theory (the interpretation of nominals).
