The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the most important topics in applied linguistics: individual difference research, discourse analysis, pragmatics, testing, second language acquisition theories and linguistic analysis will be covered extensively. The course will include both theoretical considerations and empirical results. Students will have a chance to read about the most important issues in applied linguistics and the seminar will include small hands-on tasks for the students to try out. Students attending this course will be asked to provide feedback on the article, be active members of the class as well as to write up a topic for the term paper.
