We are going to study the phonological rules of (mainly British) English, and letter-to-sound rules, which enable you to guess the pronunciation of words from their spelling. You will be practicing the transcription of BrE pronunciations. Course's webpage:
requirements & assessment
Homework is assigned every week. There will be two larger, marked pieces of homework, and three in-class tests. The end-term assessment is a function of the quantity and quality of the work specified.
