At the crossroads of the three literary kinds, focussed and intensive, the short story is an eminent genre to perform in-depth analyses of texts. Names will include, among others, Chekhov, Mann, Joyce, Rhys, Hemingway, Williams, Nabokov, Carter and Lessing.
requirements & assessment
Come regularly, read the assigned texts attentively, be prepared to give presentations, take an active part in the discussions, write an in-class test plus a home assignment.
