description & set texts
The course develops such academic skills as reading and writing complex academic texts, note taking, summarising, paraphrasing, quoting, outlining, and referencing. As part of the coursework, students will give a formal presentation about a research article (optional component), write a short academic paper, summarise academic texts, and complete various smaller assignments.
requirements & assessment
Assessment will be based mainly on active participation, the completion of the assigned tasks, one major home assignment, and regular attendance. The results of a centrally administered Academic Skills Test -"zárthelyi dolgozat"- will count as 40% of the final course grade.
