The course has been designed to help students improve their command of English. There will be a focus on all four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing), as well as a focus on expressing ideas in English with accuracy and clarity. There will be regular written and oral tasks, and students will also be expected to give short, in-class presentations. Apart from working with a coursebook (Proficiency Gold) as core material, a range of supplementary materials will be used covering topics and issues reflecting the interests of the students.
requirements & assessment
Students will be required to participate in classes actively and prepare home assignments on time. Each student will also have to give a presentation on a chosen topic. Assessment will be based on regular attendance, participation in class, quality of assignments /mini-presentations and test grades.
