The course develops study skills (e.g., efficient reading, note taking) and focuses on refining students' writing skills necessary for success in their university studies. Through a series of shorter assignments, students will learn to read, summarise, and write texts with different rhetorical structures.
requirements & assessment
Attend classes and participate actively; prepare for all classes; complete all assignments (a library visit related task, a series of writing tasks, readings, etc.); prepare drafts and do revision work; evaluate other students' drafts and give meaningful feedback; keep a folder for the assignments and handouts; keep deadlines. Assessment: based on the requirements which are further specified by course tutors.
