description & set texts
This course aims to provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully deliver a business presentation. The course will look at how business presentations are planned, structured, practised and delivered. This will include consideration of both the linguistic and non-linguistic elements necessary for presentation success, as well as how to evaluate the impact of your presentation on your audience. You will, therefore, be expected to present from the very beginning of the course and to provide, and receive constructive criticism of your own and your peers’ presentations. This will be a very active and hands on course with much learning by doing. At the same time, hopefully, you will be able to increase your self-awareness and learn more about yourselves with a view to utilising this knowledge in several fields of life including presentations.
requirements & assessment
Regular attendance, active participation in evaluating your own and your peers' presentations, at least two business presentations per term and a test on related vocabulary at the end of the term.
