1/ LITERATURE REVIEW

Joint requirement with the Advanced Writing course.

Deadline: 16th March, 12.00 a.m. You have to hand in two copies, one to your Methodology tutor, another one to your Writing tutor. American Studies students only hand in one copy.

Length: 4-6 pages typed, double spaced (appr. 2000 words)

2/ METHODOLOGY FILE

Deadline: Same as the date of the first Standard exam.

Should contain:

  1. a/ learner profile
  2. b/ principled choice of coursebook
  3. c/ lesson plans

3/ STANDARD EXAM

You will sit for this during the exam period. You will have to give written answers to 12 questions chosen from the list of Revealed exam questions. They might be phrased differently, but they will not contain anything that is not covered in the list.

Weighting of all components in final grade:
  1. Literature Review 30%
  2. MethFile 30%
  3. Standard 40%
The passmark for the Methodology File is 15 points out of thirty, for the Standard exam 24 out 40. There is no passmark for the Literature Review. Candidates need to pass each component and have to score minimum 56 points on the three components in order to pass.
