This course aims to improve the skills that students need if they are to succeed at this university: learner skills, study skills and the four language skills (reading, speaking, listening and writing) with special emphasis on writing skills. It is designed to help students to bridge the gap between previous studies and the university.

requirements & assessment
During the course students are required to take an active part in the lessons, prepare written assignments and follow their own schedule of self-study activities.

Grading criteria are based on the requirements, but their weighting is negotiated between individual tutors and groups.
