Szabó Máté, Wed 15:45–17:15, EC 023, host: DES (R338)
description & set texts
The seminar highlights some of the best texts of the Seren poets and those of the youngest generation. For every poet we aim to select the latest volume, and we will read the poems as part of an edited selection. The volumes also help us to learn about the previous works of the poets (should not they be first-volume authors.) "Home-rule:" poems of ’97. Robert Minhinnick: After the Hurricane. Peter Finch: The Big Book of Cardiff and other poems. [For 2005 - Cardiff's 50 years a capital, 100 years a city - Peter Finch has worked with Grahame Davies to edit The Big Book of Cardiff (Seren Books) - a collection of short fiction and verse which covers the post-1980 redeveloped city. Iain Sinclair, Tessa Hadley, Ifor ap Glyn, John Williams, James Hawes, and Gillian Clarke are some of the contributors.] [from www.poetrywales.co.uk] Peter Finch. Sound and vision samples. Sheenagh Pugh: The Movement of Bodies. Hungarian poets in Wales, Welsh poets in Hungary. Samantha Wynne Rydderch: Rockclimbing in Silk. Duncan Bush: This, Snaring Heaven. Owen Sheers: The Blue Book.
