The course is intended to be a Socratic literature seminar focusing on close reading, joint analysis and interpretation of outstanding pieces representing the best of modern American short story. The versatile selection roughly covers the 20th century through a wide range of different views and voices challenging and rewarding both for advanced and less advanced readers of (American) literature. requirements & assessment
Requirements: full time, "three dimensional" presence, conscious and conscientious readings, active participation in seminar work, one in-class paper toward the end of the term. Assessment: based on the performance of the above mentioned tasks
