Language development Through the Internet (Nyelvfejlesztés az Interneten keresztül) in spring 2005
Rádai Péter, Wed 09:00–10:30, ADS 338, host: DEAL (R306)
description & set texts
We take the Internet for granted, we use it everyday. The real question for advanced language learners is whether they are able to exploit the Internet specifically for language development purposes, an opportunity which must not be neglected. This course intends to explore a range of options available for us to improve several of our language skills: to develop our vocabulary, to comprehend authentic texts, to raise our language awareness and to enhance learners' speaking and writing skills. Apart from using the Internet as the fundamental source and resource for the course, participants will have a chance to acquire and/or better their skills of searching the net in order to identify the most useful materials for their language development. The seminars will be held in a computer lab to make the most of the availability of live Internet connections, though in-class procedures will mostly follow more traditional language development patterns.
