This is just to let you know that we will be hosting a phonology workshop in Sendai (northern Japan) in early September 2006. The atmosphere will be informal, the aim being to hear and discuss papers on the general theme of 'Strength Relations in Phonology'. The invited speakers will be Colin Ewen (Leiden University) and John Harris (University College, London).
We welcome abstracts on any topic relating to the representation of phonological strength, and would be grateful if you could pass on this information to any interested parties (colleagues, past or current students, phonology mailing lists?$B!D). Details of the event are on the workshop homepage, which can be found at

Many thanks, in advance, for your help. Best wishes from Japan!
